Boho Bat Mitzvah

We absolutely loved creating this intimate boho garden party for Zoe’s bat mitzvah. I was so honored to be a party of the event. It was so wonderful to feel the energy of a gathering again and her family reminded me so much of my own it was a really really special event for me to be a part of.

For this boho garden party the inspiration was Northwestern Fern Forest, fairy garden party. Zoe loves bright oranges and fuchsia (girl after my own heart) and natural furniture. The space was narrow and wanted to make sure people could comfortably social distance, have dinner, and watch the ceremony with ease so I turned to my friends at Archive Rentals to pull all the boho garden party whimsey I could find.

After the invitation, the entrance for a party sets the tone for the evening so we added floral details and gold laser cut signage from one of my favorites, Creative Amme. Felisa from Of the Flowers added her magic to the entryway gate and welcome table as over grown greenery and brightly colored runners guided guests to reveal the colorful boho garden party.

Even though the family was able to gather together safely, there were many guests in attendance over Zoom. We made sure that Zoe’s zoom background was as special for guests who could not attend as it was for those in person.

To save on space we used a tall shelving unit that acted as a modern day buffet. We made glasses, plates, and silverware available for guests as well as two shelves dedicated to food. This design allowed us to put care into the smaller details and make the display of something that is frequently overlooked, feel special.

We were able to fit three separate boho lounge areas into the space that made sure guests could social distance, enjoy dinner, and chat comfortably.
