Evite VS. Handwritten

Let’s just make one thing clear; while we live in an era where technology rules, not everyone is checking Facebook for your social soiree.  Take it off your list as an option, you’re an adult.  ok, done finger wagging, let’s get down to the brass tacks. 

If we could send hand written notes for every event we throw, we would.  We would send an invite for a letter opening.  However, time is of the essence.  If you only have a week to sent out invitations, stick to digital.  Paperless post and Evite have great selections and they are easily customizable.  If you DO happen to have a little extra time, they offer printable options as well. 

For parties that have more lead time we will always suggest the ever charming printed invitation.  People will never tire of receiving mail, it will be a welcome break from bills and catalogues.  The moment you see your name written on an envelope you’ve already started planning an outfit.  It conveys sophistication, charm, and excitement.  

While every event is different make sure not overlook the impression of your invitation.  You will set the mood upon opening and provide necessary information without have to spell it all out.   For a bachelorette party we threw we chose oranges and pinks that felt warm like the desert, and pool blues since the event would take place in Palm Springs.  At the event we made sure to provide pink and orange gift bags and cocktails that were enjoyed poolside.  While we never said ‘Pool party’ it was implied that a bathing suit and sunscreen would be the uniform of choice for that weekend. 

No matter what medium you choose for delivery, make sure there is a consistent theme or color that will be carried through to your party.  There is an endless number of calligraphers available but our go to’s are crooked calligraphy, honey brush design, and here.
